SpendPop ("we", "our", or "app"), developed by NBOUND ("Beyond The Boundaries"), is designed from the ground up with a privacy-first, offline-first philosophy. We believe your personal financial data belongs solely to you.
This Privacy Policy explains how SpendPop handles your data, what device permissions the application requires, and your rights regarding your personal information.
2. Zero Cloud Tracking & 100% Offline-First Storage
- Local Device Storage Only: All financial entries, transactions, amounts, categories, account balances, notes, and monthly budget limits that you record in SpendPop are stored strictly on your local device in a private, sandboxed SQLite database (via Drift ORM).
- No External Servers: We do not operate external database servers that collect, store, sync, or transmit your financial data. Your expenses never leave your smartphone.
- No Mandatory Login: SpendPop does not require you to create an account, register an email address, or provide login credentials to access any feature.
3. Android Permissions & How We Use Them
SpendPop requests only the permissions strictly required to provide its core features:
Purpose: Allows the optional "Floating Quick-Capture Button" to dock unobtrusively on your screen while using payment or banking apps (like Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm).
Privacy Safeguards: This button activates only when you explicitly turn it on in Settings. Tapping it opens a lightweight modal to record an expense without leaving your active app. The overlay does not read your screen content, does not take screenshots, and does not inspect your clipboard or accessibility services automatically.
Purpose: Required by the Android OS to keep the floating quick-capture button active in memory as a persistent foreground service. A silent notification is displayed while the floating button is active so you are always aware and can dismiss it at any time.
Purpose: If you have opted to keep the floating quick-capture button enabled, this permission allows Android to safely resume the button when your device restarts.
Purpose: Used exclusively for displaying non-intrusive banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob and checking network availability for periodic currency exchange rates.
4. Third-Party Services (Advertising)
SpendPop integrates Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) to support continuous free development and updates:
- Google AdMob may collect and process pseudonymous technical identifiers, such as:
- Google Advertising ID (GAID / AAID)
- Device model and operating system version
- Coarse, country/city-level geographic data derived from IP address
- Ad interaction metrics and crash diagnostics

You can manage or reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads at any time through Android settings: Settings > Google > Ads.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
- Complete User Control: Because your data resides solely on your physical device, SpendPop retains your financial data only as long as you keep the app installed.
- Instant Data Wipe: You can delete all your stored transactions, categories, and accounts at any time inside the app via Settings > Delete Current Account Data, or by clearing app storage in Android System Settings.
- Uninstalling: Uninstalling SpendPop immediately removes all application database files and local settings from your device.
6. Children's Privacy
SpendPop does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. The application is intended for general audiences managing personal finances.
7. Security
Since all your financial data resides solely within your device's sandboxed local application storage, your device's operating system security (encryption, screen locks, biometric authentication) protects your records against unauthorized access.
8. Updates to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. Any modifications will be posted to this page with an updated revision date.
